Results of GfK TEMAX® Ukraine: Second quarter shows outstanding growth of the technical consumer goods market

August 18, 2010 - The technical consumer goods market showed extremely good dynamics in the second quarter of 2010 and reached remarkable growth of more than 40% compared with the same period year ago. Sales increased in all market segments, with every sector exhibiting growth in excess of 20%. The photo and telecommunication sectors demonstrated the best dynamics both in the second quarter and for the first half year simultaneously. Nearly all product groups demonstrated double-digit growth rates with only a select few in consumer electronics exhibiting a decline in sales. Now we can speak with confidence about the normal market seasonality and reasonably predict that the third quarter of 2010 will be better than the second one; if not in terms of growth rates but in volume at the very least. Despite the massive market growth the absolute sales figure is still far below the pre-crisis level of 2008 and even slightly lower than that of 2007. more >>
